Summary:
Work independently with minimal oversight to perform complex fault isolation and repairs down to the component level on sophisticated electronic military hardware.
Hands-on troubleshooting, rather than relying on automated test systems, and requires a strong understanding of test procedures, electronic theory, and repair techniques.
Experience in laboratory/test operations, a working knowledge of electrical, electronic, software, and mechanical systems, strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Ability to set short-term priorities in response to changing customer needs.
Plan, conduct, and document tests on avionics systems and subsystems.
Investigate and resolve test anomalies and failures.
Contribute to test plan development and provide input on improving testing processes.
Perform preventive maintenance and ensure readiness of test systems.
Train and mentor entry-level technicians.
Recommend new equipment, methods, and improvements to testing procedures.
Use sound judgment and technical experience to execute and improve test objectives.
Innovate and implement improvements in test methods and processes.
Provide guidance to intermediate-level personnel on complex troubleshooting.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong ability to perform complex fault isolation on avionics hardware
Aerospace-quality soldering skills
Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
Solid understanding of electronics and avionics theory
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
