What Youll Get to DoThe Maintenance Crew Chief provides direction, leadership, and assistance to the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and Apprentices. Alongside their regular AME duties, they ensure all directives communicated by the Base Engineer are completed and delegate tasks accordingly while keeping the crew focused and on pace.Direct maintenance staff when carrying out inspections, repairs, replacements, rectifications, etc. to ensure manpower is utilized efficientlyEnsure tasks completed by maintenance staff are signed for on completionCarrying out Quality Assurance functions as directed by the VP Quality & SafetyEnsuring proper hand-over of full details for work in progress to the succeeding shiftCommunicating all completed or outstanding maintenance with the Base EngineerAssisting with and supporting all policies and procedures in regard to the Calm Air SMS Program, as outlined in the company Safety Management Manual, CAV-1001Responsible for ensuring crew follow all safe working practicesOther duties as assignedHours of WorkShift work is required and may include mornings/afternoons, evenings, and weekendsSkills & Experience We Value Must poses valid security clearancesPrevious leadership/supervisory experience requiredAbility to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredCandidates must be graduates of an accredited aviation programATR 42/72 endorsement is a requirementBoeing 737 and Airbus experience requiredBasic Computer skills (word, excel, office)Knowledge of an airline’s operations an assetAbility to prioritize tasksMust be able to work independently or in a team settingAbility to work efficiently and accurately under pressurePossess a valid driver’s licenseAbility to lift 75lbsMust be able to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Security Clearance qualificationInuktitut and/or Inuinnaqtun language considered an assetPreference given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
