Job Type: Full-time; Contract (6 months)
Location: Chandler, AZ (Onsite Only)
Schedule: Monday to Thursday; 1st Shift (9/80)
Pay Rate: $26.47 to $47.56 per hour
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Position Summary
As a CAD Operator on the Mechanical Engineering team supporting launch vehicle programs, you will be responsible for producing high-quality design and drawing packages. Your expertise will help ensure technical accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with aerospace standards, contributing directly to the success of innovative systems.
Key Responsibilities
Create and review mechanical drawings and design packages using Siemens NX 12 with Teamcenter.
Ensure designs comply with industry and military standards.
Conduct tolerance analysis and check hardware fitment on assemblies.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, as well as vendors.
Create or revise parametric 3D models and drawings following ASME standards.
Required Qualifications
2-year technical degree in Drafting/Engineering and 2 years of related experience, or a BS in Engineering.
Proficiency with Siemens NX 12 and Teamcenter.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent time management and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with extended time at a workstation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ASME Y14.5-2009; GDTP Professional Certification preferred.
Familiarity with weld design standards (AWS D17.1 and D1.1); CWI Certification a plus.
Experience supporting DoD programs.
Understanding of CNC Mill/Lathe operations and standard manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and MIL-STD-100 standards.
