Northrop Grummans Space Systems is looking for a Drafter (Level 2 OR 3) to join the MAC-D program team in Englewood, Colorado.

Job Responsibilities:

• Utilize computer-aided design tools such as CAD, CAM, or CATIA to create, modify, and detail engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations based on established layouts and standard data in a field of specialization such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics.

• Complete details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.

• Determines scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations; prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.

• Interpret design sketches, engineering notes, and specifications to produce technical drawings

• Develop and maintain accurate drafting documentation, including assembly drawings and schematics.

• Collaborate with engineers to ensure proper design.

• Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles

Basic Qualifications

• Level 2: High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience

• Level 3: High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience

• US Citizenship with willingness and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI security clearance

• 2 years’ experience detailing engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations

• CAD/AutoCAD certificate or other similar tools

• Understand principles of MIL-SPEC standards

• Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite

• Familiarity in creating detailed 2D and 3D models

• Experience with component selection, qualification, and application in electronic or mechanical systems (***pls verify this is reasonable for a drafter to have this experience

Preferred Qualification

• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility

• Strong mechanical knowledge is beneficial.

• Proficient in CAD software including NX, CAD CREO, or SOLID WORKS

• Experience with Siemen’s Teamcenter or similar PLM systems

• Experience with technical writing for documentation purposes

• Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.

• 5 years’ experience detailing mechanical/electrical parts and assemblies.

• Familiar with ASME Standards

Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
