Delta Air Lines, Inc. has multiple openings for IT Sr. Technical Product Engineers in Atlanta, GA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Commercial Managers, Senior Product Managers, and development teams to analyze and ensure that all teams clearly understand the functionalities required to meet spanet and consumer needs.
  • Communicate and clarify business needs to ensure that technology products and services are aligned across multiple business units, third-party, and partner IT domains.
  • Contribute to the development of long-range plans to support strategic business goals and ensure that technology solutions meet business needs effectively.
  • Conduct research, perform studies to obtain data, and analyze problems.
  • Advise and recommend solutions to business issues utilizing knowledge of theory, principles, and technology of APIs and solving business problems with technology.
  • Target customer and user definition, competitive positioning, and industry trends to execute successful projects.
  • Work closely with Product Owners on Agile development teams to translate product inputs into well-defined functional requirements and user stories. Lead story-grooming sessions and requirements clarifications sessions.
  • Translate product strategy into requirement documents, use cases, and process flows. Work with application support and development teams to fix software bugs and escalated issues.
  • Write stories to deliver functionality, including user interaction, system integration, or API level stories.
  • Interact with the UX team to analyze customer experience and define key features and stories to translate them to scenarios for development automation test cases.
  • Prioritize the maintenance of a healthy backlog, including updating and tracking defects and documenting, analyzing, and proposing process changes.
  • Re-engineer business approaches based on an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to current and future state business and technical environments.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and review and approve stories for launch.
  • Telecommuting permitted two days per week.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and five years of experience in software development. In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and two years of experience in software development.

Must have work experience in:

  • Performing Gap Analysis and Impact Analysis by identifying existing technologies and documenting the enhancements to meet the end-state requirements;
  • Building, deploying, and scaling applications in public cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, and GCP;
  • Working with product team to translate business and functional requirements into API User Stories;
  • Creating REST APIs using Business Rules Engine and Business Process Modeling for configuration and utilization of Cloud technologies including PaaS and micro-services to give scalability;
  • Translating business requirements to create tailored retail experience for passengers, including ticket prices, ancillary services (such as extra baggage, in-flight experience, or seat upgrades), and loyalty rewards;
  • Determining when to go to production and owning or collaborating on the ’Go to Market’ plan; and
  • Release management.
