I&8217;m working with a well-established engineering organisation looking to strengthen their Test Systems capability with the addition of a Test Systems Engineer.
This is a varied role that sits across test system design, integration, automation, troubleshooting and support. Rather than focusing purely on software development, you&8217;ll be involved in the full lifecycle of a test solution, from concept and design through to integration, acceptance testing and ongoing support.
The position would suit someone who enjoys solving complex engineering problems and wants ownership of complete test systems rather than just one element of the process.
What youll be doing
• Designing and developing automated test solutions
• Developing test software using LabVIEW and associated NI toolsets
• Integrating test equipment including PXI systems, power supplies, analysers, DAQ equipment and instrumentation
• Supporting the design and build of complete test systems and test racks
• Debugging and troubleshooting hardware, software and system-level issues
• Creating test procedures, test plans and acceptance documentation
• Supporting customer acceptance testing and system demonstrations
• Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complete engineering solutions
• Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers where required
What they&8217;re looking for
• Background in developing automated test systems
• LabVIEW
• TestStand, PXI or similar automated test environments
• Good understanding of system integration and instrumentation
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work across software, hardware and system-level engineering activities
• Producing technical documentation and test procedures
Nice to have
• LabVIEW FPGA
• RF, electronics or communications systems
• Python or scripting
• Acceptance testing or customer-facing activities
• Leading technical work packages or mentoring junior engineers
Why this role is different
This isn&8217;t a role where you&8217;ll simply be handed a completed test rig and asked to write software. The team are looking for engineers who enjoy getting involved in the wider solution, understanding how systems are put together, supporting integration activities and helping deliver complete test capabilities from start to finish.
It&8217;s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a broad engineering role and wants to work on complex projects where they can have a genuine impact on the final solution.
