Relocation No Travel Possible M1 is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic I (Power Plants) This is a maintenance role focused on the upkeep of H-60 series aircraft, including the MH60-R model. This role involves supporting the maintenance and repair of various aircraft systems, performing inspections, and ensuring the readiness of the aircraft in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. As a Mechanic I you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining aircraft components, including engines, avionics, landing gear, hydraulic systems, flight surfaces, and more. You will work with hand and power tools, interpret technical data, and perform inspections and repairs as part of routine and emergency maintenance tasks. Additionally, you will be expected to handle specialized tasks such as engine testing and part replacements.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Aircraft System Repairs and Rebuilds:
Perform maintenance on aircraft structure, engines, gearboxes, rotor systems, and avionics. This includes using various tools (e,g., welding, shear metal brakes, rivet guns, and drills) to ensure all components are properly maintained.
• Inspections and Troubleshooting:
Conduct inspections (e.g., 175-hour, isochronal, and phase inspections), focusing on engine components, hydraulic systems and more. Use testing equipment to assess engine function and replace damaged parts as needed.
• System Adjustments and Repair:
Adjust, repair, and replace electrical wiring systems and other accessories. Ensure all aircraft systems are in safe operating condition.
• Flight Support:
Perform pre-flight, thru-flight, and post flight maintenance inspections, ensuring the aircraft is properly serviced and safe for operation.
• Aircraft Handling:
Participate in jacking, towing, and moving aircraft. Record all maintenance activities, ensuring safety of flight items are addressed.
• Specialization Areas:
Potential for specialization in areas like engine repair, airframe maintenance, electrical systems, or armament.
• Safety and Quality Compliance:
Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work environment, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Participate in programs like FOD (Foreign Object Damage) prevention and HAZMAT handling.
• Record Keeping and Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed in OOMA or similar to OOMA systems ensuring compliance with 4790 and safety standards.
• Leadership and Supervision:
Assign tasks, monitor work completion, and ensure safety procedures are followed during repairs and inspections. In this role you may also manage and supervise junior mechanics as needed.
Additional Duties:
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment (shop housekeeping).
• Obtain and maintain:
Certification CDI (Collateral Duty Inspector)
• Participate in safety programs and ensure the proper disposal of hazardous materials.
• Manage or coordinate maintenance programs as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
• Language:
Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
• Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of H-60 series aircraft maintenance experience (or equivalent rotary aircraft experience), with at least three (3) years of experience as a CDI/CDQAR.
• MH60-R experience is preferred.
• Obtain necessary certifications like CDI (Collateral Duty Inspector) or QAR (Quality Assurance Representative)
• Qualifications:
Ability to obtain and maintain required qualifications in line with US Navy maintenance guidelines.
• Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, often in cross-cultural environments.
• Proficiency with computer programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and NALCOMIS/OOMA.
• Security:
Required to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated Tier-3 Background Investigation and possible secret clearance.
• Must be able to work all shifts. employment:
however; 40 hours is not guaranteed per-week. Working hours; must be able to be flexible, start time and end time will be dependent on flight schedule and or overall tasking.
• Current valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Working Conditions:
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must meet the physical standards and pass a medical exam.
