Job Title: Aircraft Assembly Technician
Job DescriptionJoin our team as an Aircraft Assembly Technician, where you will play a critical role in assembling, modifying, and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and structural assemblies according to customer requirements. This position demands expertise in basic sheet metal, riveting, assembly methods, and common shop practices, along with the ability to identify nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Work with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to meet quality requirements.
- Complete data gathering to facilitate assembly progress.
- Set up and operate various shop equipment, such as squeezes and precision measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot problems and seek process improvements.
- Perform required rework or changes during the assembly process.
- Assemble major components of sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and smaller bench work assemblies.
- Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.
Essential Skills- High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to two years related experience or training.
- Ability to interpret blueprints.
- Strong verbal communication skills regarding work processes.
- Proficiency in recording process information.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Six months vocational training preferred.
- Experience with complex assembly, structures mechanic, and sheet metal.
- Forklift, drill press, floor mounted rivet press, and overhead crane operation.
- 5 years of complex assembly and structures experience.
- Prefer previous experience with Spirit, Boeing, Textron, or Cessna.

Work Environment
Work full-time on the first shift from 6am-2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime on Saturdays. The environment is climate-controlled, and steel toe boots are required. You will be exposed to vibration, work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and occasionally toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually loud.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
