Job Description:
Unison is the leading provider of differentiated engine controls, accessories, and performance monitoring solutions in the Aerospace, Defense & Space segments. Serving both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers, Unison designs, manufactures and supplies the most advanced components and systems in the world.You’ll be a member of an Integrated Product Team & be responsible for completing on-time designs from initial concepts through final qualification and production release. You will be working to define opportunities to automate processes and develop the solution. You will work directly with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure designs result in the most cost-effective solution.The Electrical/Mechanical Designer will also be responsible for documenting designs utilizing the latest drafting standards.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Overall ownership and accountability of product definition for assigned projects from launch through production
  • Create assembly layouts
  • Generate/review parts for library use
  • Create all associated drawings for the electrical/mechanical product of the design package
  • Work within the guidelines of:
  • Engineering Standards
  • Product Definition Operating Procedures
  • Specifications
  • Government and Commercial Standards
  • Evaluate and influence new and revised Engineering Standards and Product Definition Operating Procedures
  • Ensure all interface characteristics between components are established and agreed upon by component owner of mating/interfacing parts
  • Concurrently work multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality, and ensure schedule requirements are met

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (or High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of Design Engineering experience)

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proficient in utilization of Siemens NX CAD
  • Proficient in utilization of Siemens Teamcenter PLM
  • Proficient knowledge of the GD&T standards
  • Working knowledge of the ASME standards
  • Experience with gears, shafts, etc.
  • Experience with tubing/ducting routing
  • Experience with sheet metal supports
  • Experience with casting and machining processes
  • Ability to manage electronic data files in a structured database environment
  • Web based knowledge, word processing, and electronic spreadsheet / presentation skills
  • Ability to perform in a team environment, across functions, and with suppliers and revenue sharing partners
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customer organizations, including upper management
