Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Location: Boston, MA
Pay: $25-$35/hr
Type of Position: 6 month contract to hire, union once direct
Shift: Monday - Friday 6am-2:30pm
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Mechanic to perform truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards. In this role, you will run diagnostics on vehicles and collaborate closely with other team members to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
- Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and buses.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspections, tire rotations, and oil changes.
- Maintain parts inventory and ensure cleanliness in the shop.
- Collaborate with the repair team to diagnose vehicle problems and plan repairs.
- Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks.
- Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of experience working on cars, buses, or trucks.
- Proficiency in diesel mechanics, ground support equipment mechanics, and wheeled mechanics.
- Ability to perform diagnostic testing and automotive repairs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- CDL License is a plus but not required.
- Cummins Engine experience is preferred.
- Ability to obtain SIDA Badge for the Airport.
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting and power generation equipment repair.
- Knowledge of transmission repair and engine work.

You will be working in an indoor mechanic shop that can get cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The culture is laid back, with a supportive environment where everyone helps each other out. You will work alongside lead mechanics in the shop. The dress code requires steel-toed boots, and the company provides a uniform.
