Role Overview:
- Lead your team to achieve operational, quality, and safety goals, managing 10–20 direct reports, including sub-leadership responsibilities.
- Interface with a diverse customer base on highly technical avionics products and service models.

- Aging Work in progress (AWIP)
- Champion the implementation of FLIGHT DECK (GE Aerospaces proprietary lean operating system) by collaborating with the Lean leader and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead lean projects by analyzing operational data to deliver measurable improvements in business metrics.
- Develop a safe, inclusive, and high-performing team to support a professional and profitable avionics workshop.
- Act as the Responsible Manager for the workshop, ensuring quality output, participating in audits, implementing corrective actions, and fostering a positive quality culture.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma level or equivalent in a related aviation field (e.g., Aeroskills, Aeronautical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Maintenance Management).
- Experience in program or avionics operational management.
- Knowledge of aircraft regulations, standards, and frameworks.
- Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and the ability to produce required documentation.
- Extensive experience in performance management and training/development of direct reports.
- Strong understanding of avionics/electronic component maintenance and repair processes (e.g., IPC J-STD-001 soldering standards).
- Proven ability to identify, develop, plan, and implement lean improvement projects.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security clearance if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Trainer/Assessor qualification.
- Formal supervision qualification (Certificate IV or above).
- Lean qualifications.
- Completed or currently pursuing a degree in Business or a related field.
- Flexibility to work across multiple time zones (e.g., locally, US, UK) and travel as needed.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in cross-functional teams
