Job Title: Manufacturing Production Supervisor
Job Description

The Manufacturing Production Supervisor oversees daily production activities in a complex aerospace manufacturing environment, ensuring projects meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives. This role coordinates closely with manufacturing, engineering, and build management teams to support the build schedule, resolve constraints, and drive continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily communication with Manufacturing Leadership and Build Management to ensure projects meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.
  • Oversee and track efforts across all manufacturing and engineering functions to support the build schedule by identifying required tooling, materials, resources, planning, and product definition to ensure a smooth transition from design to production.
  • Deliver clear and timely daily metrics to Manufacturing Leadership and Build Management teams to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify and communicate material, tool, and equipment shortages to Build Management and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop and support recovery plans and resolve conflicts.
  • Assist Manufacturing Leadership with tracking and updating the Build Plan to account for missed milestones, re-sequenced work, and changes to priorities.
  • Work with production planning to ensure assembly flow is fully supported by all functions so that materials and hardware are delivered on schedule.
  • Communicate and coordinate the completion of tasks across manufacturing and Build Management to maintain schedule alignment and production continuity.
  • Drive strong safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness and prevention, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory protocols and rules.
  • Promote and uphold good housekeeping practices, tool accountability, and responsible handling of hazardous materials and chemicals on the production floor.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Supervise production activities, providing direction and support to ensure efficient operations and high-quality assembly work.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in aircraft fabrication and assembly, or in the production of similarly complex aerospace or defense products.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing functions within a complex production environment.
  • Demonstrated computer and analytical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with MS Project, manufacturing software, dashboards, and scheduling software.
  • Hands-on production supervision experience with a focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Proven ability to support and drive process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organizational drive with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective supervisory and operations skills, including coordinating cross-functional activities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production management, and assembly operations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and with transparency across multiple levels and functions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field such as Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, or a science discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Technical knowledge of component assembly, including both subassembly and final top-level assembly.
  • Understanding of the relationship between schedule, quality, and budget, and the ability to balance these factors in decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management practices and quality management processes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other teams through influential leadership rather than solely positional authority.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, combined with commercial acumen to assess the potential impact of decisions.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies and tools, including Kaizen and Six Sigma.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, process improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Ability to set clear objectives and milestones for teams and projects.
  • Ability to lead by example in safety, emphasizing good housekeeping, tool accountability, and safe handling of hazardous materials and chemicals.
  • Experience working in production, production management, and operations within a manufacturing environment.
