Job overview and responsibilities
The Senior Manager - Fleet Procurement will be responsible for managing the purchase agreements with aircraft manufacturers and the reporting process of inducting new aircraft into United’s fleet. This position will require negotiation of purchase agreement documentation and extensive knowledge of aircraft contracts and original equipment manufacturers’ processes. The induction process will require prioritization and structure to enable efficient implementation of bringing aircraft into United’s fleet. The candidate will provide specialized technical aviation knowledge, program management, business acumen, and leadership skills to facilitate the identification and management of all interdependencies and areas of risk.
- Lead and manage the documentation of new aircraft purchase agreements and amendments to existing purchase agreements
- Negotiate with aircraft manufactures on terms of aircraft purchase agreements; develop and maintain strong relationships with aircraft manufacturers; lead negotiations on pricing, delivery schedules, technical specifications, and other critical terms; balance company interests with manufacturer capabilities to achieve mutually beneficial agreements
- Oversee and coordinate with various internal departments to ensure a smooth integration of new aircraft; address and resolve escalations from various internal departments related to new aircraft acquisitions; manage timelines and resolve issues that may arise during the induction process; provide support to leadership in making critical decisions related to aircraft acquisition and fleet planning; act as a liaison between manufacturers and internal stakeholders to address technical or operational concerns
- Validate invoices related to aircraft purchase deposits and aircraft deliveries to ensure accuracy and compliance with agreement terms
- Provide regular updates to applicable finance and operations teams on upcoming deliveries; contribute to long-term fleet planning strategies and capital expenditure forecasts
- Ad hoc projects and analysis as requested; conduct market research and competitive analysis on aircraft types, pricing, and industry trends; prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership on aircraft acquisition strategies and performance metrics; contribute to special projects related to fleet optimization, sustainability initiatives, or new technology integration
QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):- Bachelors degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in Undergraduate degree in business, technical, or aviation related discipline
- 7+ years of consulting, procurement, legal, finance, supply chain, or related experience
- Experience with purchase agreements or similar contracts
- Experience managing complex projects across multiple functions
- Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross functional groups or activities
- Highly organized and possesses the ability to multi-task competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and presentation skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $124,735.00 to $169,950.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
