Job Title: CNC Machinist (4 & 5-Axis, Aerospace Components)
Job DescriptionJoin a highly skilled manufacturing team producing mission-critical aerospace components that demand uncompromising precision. In this role, you set up and operate advanced CNC equipment, including 4 and 5-axis mills, to machine complex, tight-tolerance parts from aerospace-grade alloys. You collaborate closely with engineering and quality teams, follow established quality management system processes, and contribute directly to the success of high-spec aerospace and defense programs.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations on a variety of components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D CAD/CAM output to determine machining operations.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality, accuracy, and production efficiency.
- Inspect in-process and finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining and process-related issues.
- Follow all relevant quality management system (QMS) processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Set up and operate state-of-the-art 4 and 5-axis CNC mills for complex machining tasks.
- Manufacture tight-tolerance, complex components from aerospace-grade alloys, including aluminum and hard alloys.
- Interpret and execute part programs with GD&T requirements to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Perform tool selection, in-process inspections, and adaptive machining adjustments to optimize part quality and cycle time.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure parts meet AS9100 and specific customer requirements.
Essential Skills- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, Lathe Machinist, 5-Axis Machinist, or in a closely related CNC machining role.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, cutting tools, and CNC machine operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments for in-process and final inspections.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow documented QMS processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.
- Experience with 5-axis machining is a plus.
- Experience with advanced machining centers such as Kitamura and similar high-precision equipment is a plus.
- Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes such as Integrex and Quikturn-type machines is a plus.
- Comfort working with aerospace-grade alloys, including aluminum and hard alloys.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, and production team members.

Work Environment
The position operates in a modern, precision-focused manufacturing environment with advanced CNC mills and lathes, including 4 and 5-axis equipment used to produce high-spec aerospace components. Team members work with aerospace-grade materials such as aluminum and hard alloys under established AS9100 and QMS standards. Available schedules include a 4x10 day shift (Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) and a 3x12 weekend shift (Friday through Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). The workspace emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, with regular use of precision measuring instruments and close collaboration with engineering and quality departments.
