Job Description:

This position performs composite-related fabrication of detail parts and sub-assemblies from carbon fiber, fiberglass, and other lightweight aerospace materials. The role involves automated lay-up machine setup and operation, composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly tasks, using blueprints, engineering drawings, and planning from non-conformance dispositions. Contractors will work on electrical composition installation for the NASA SLS rocket, support various areas of the NOLA site as needed, and complete tasks per Boeing and NASA procedures.

* Schedule: 1st shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday, occasional volunteer overtime
* Tools: Required
* Pay Rate: Up to 39.27/hour Education & Job Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
* A minimum of 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* A minimum of 3 years of Electrical installation/assembly experience.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprint drawings. Preferred Skills
* Experience with aerospace or NASA component assembly.
* Composite material fabrication experience. Job Duties & Functions
* Perform composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly of detail parts and sub-assemblies using hand-lay-up or NC equipment.
* Set up and operate automated lay-up machines.
* Select appropriate parts, materials, tools, assemblies, standards, and hardware.
* Prepare test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices.
* Perform basic chemical conversion, paint preparation, and routine organic coatings.
* Install electrical components on aerospace components, including the NASA SLS rocket.
* Follow blueprints, engineering drawings, and non-conformance dispositions.
* Maintain safety, housekeeping, and FOD standards at all times.
* Coordinate information with employees on other shifts. Physical Requirements & Environment
* Must be comfortable standing, bending, and working at heights.
* Ability to use lift equipment safely.
* 100% onsite at New Orleans, LA 66-103.
* NASA badge required (facilitated post-start).
