Summary:
Maintain aircraft avionics, electrical systems, and associated equipment.
Remove, install, and inspect avionics/electrical components and related gear.
Perform daily, pre-/post-flight, and periodic aircraft inspections.
Support flight operations including launch, recovery, turnaround, and plane captain duties.
Assemble, disassemble, or modify systems and components to correct faults or support upgrades.
Configure aerospace vehicles and perform bench testing of equipment.
Troubleshoot complex electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Conduct validation/verification testing of systems and components.
Document maintenance actions and ensure regulatory and contractual compliance.
Inspect repairs and components for flightworthiness.
Promote safety, quality, and compliance in all work.
May oversee training and direct other technicians.
Works under general direction.
Requirements:
Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
An interim and/or final Secret Clearance post-start is required.
High school diploma/GED
Minimum 5 years of experience with military fighter aircraft maintenance
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
Comfortable working variable shifts including nights and weekends
Minimum 1 year of experience interpreting technical manuals and publications
Able to work in all weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Skills:
F/A-18 (AT/AE) qualifications
Fighter avionics/electrical modification experience
Experience with Navy 4790.1 documentation and requirements
