What You Will Do:
The Engine Parts Painter is pivotal in providing protection to engine components through the application of various paint materials. They collaborate closely with other areas of the shop to ensure the components remain clean, durable, and organized prior to beginning their part of the engine overhaul.
To excel in this role, you should be able to prioritize safety and compliance to ensure P&W standards are met. You must have the ability to adjust and manage priorities, have good time management skills, work independently, and adhere to all EH&S policies such as wearing proper PPE.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of tasks involving the application of paint, varnish, epoxy, Xylan and resin coatings on gas turbine engine parts, machinery, equipment and other plant surfaces using brushes, rollers, and conventional spraying equipment
Check, clean, mask and prepare surfaces prior to paint application
Follow drawings, specifications, manuals, and other detailed instructions
Select proper equipment and use correct techniques required for preparation, application and curing
Use gauges and instruments to check work
Strip and recoat surfaces that fail to meet specifications and standards
Ensure that equipment and work area is cleaned and maintained
Qualifications You Must Have:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
1+ years of industrial paint experience using spray guns, epoxy’s, resins, etc.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience painting in the aviation industry, autobody shop, or other manufacturing environment
Familiarity with drawings, specifications, manuals, and other detailed instructions
